学生的权利

  • 保密

Any information you provide to the Office of Educational 可访问性 will not be released to anyone (including your parents) without your express written permission.

  • 尊重

You have the right to be treated with respect by faculty, 工作人员, and students at Old Dominion University.

  • 选择

Any accommodations provided by the Office of Educational 可访问性 may be used (or not used) as you see fit. You do not have to take your tests in our 办公室 just because you have testing accommodations.

You have the right to an equal opportunity to learn, benefit from University resources, and participate in all campus activities, and you have the right to information available in a format that is accessible to you.

  • Reasonable Accommodations

You have the right to the course and testing accommodations, which do not compromise academic standards.

Should you feel that your rights have been violated, you have the right to contact the Office of Institutional Equity and Diversity to seek redress for any grievances at (757) 683-3121.

Student 责任

  • Self-advocate. Your education is YOUR responsibility. The quality of your education will be a direct reflection of the effort you put into it.
  • Self-disclose information about your disability to your professors, 管理员, and OEA counselors and 工作人员 as necessary for us to provide you with appropriate accommodations.
  • Ask for help, if you need it before it becomes too late.
To the University:
  • Be on time for appointments with your professors, University 管理员, and your OEA counselor.
  • Be aware of holds on your 狮子座在线 account and do whatever is necessary to have them taken care of before it is time to register for classes.
  • Meet with your academic advisor regularly in advance of the priority registration deadline.
To the Office of Educational 可访问性:
  • Register for exams you wish to take in OEA at least five (5) days in advance of when you expect to take them.
  • Inform OEA either by phone or email if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment or test, or if you are running late.
  • Access study and life skills workshops and tutoring as recommended by your OEA counselor.
  • Request your 教师 Accommodation 信 well in advance of the start of EACH semester.
  • Request your E-Texts well in advance of the start of EACH semester.
  • Request your Note-Sharing well in advance of the start of EACH semester.
  • Request your Interpreters well in advance of the start of EACH semester.
  • Inform OEA if any of your accommodations are not being met.
